Kenya: Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara

Kenya's or perhaps say, one of Africa's best known Parks, the Masai Mara is a savanna country in the heartland of the Maasai people, situated south west of the country and bordering Tanzania's Serengeti Plains. It is commonly and simply referred to as "the Mara", a name it shares with its the Mara River, its lifeblood, running several thousands of kilometres from the Rift valley highlands of the Mau summit through Kenya and Tanzania.

The Mara River alongside other rivers like the Talek River, are the backbone of this unique reserve which plays host to the worlds most amazing annual theatre otherwise called the "Annual Migration" featuring thousands of zebras and over 1 million wildebeests crossing annually into the Masai Mara from the Serengeti in Tanzania in search of pasture land and back. Big cats such as the lion are easy to spot here. As logic states, where there is enough prey, there are also many predators.
